Will Delta-10 Make You Fail a Drug Test?

Will Delta-10 Make You Fail a Drug Test?

In the span of a few years, the cannabis market has welcomed a slew of new cannabinoid products. Although consumers still adore CBD, the emergence of these unfamiliar hemp-derived cannabinoids are getting quite a lot of attention. One of them is Delta-10 THC. We know Delta-9 THC as the cannabinoid that gets you high, and Delta-10 definitely behaves like its stony sister.

Just how similar are they? Will Delta-10 make you fail a drug test? Read on to learn how this cannabinoid came to be and whether or not you will pass a drug test if you consume it.

Delta-10 THC Overview

Delta-10 is a synthetic isomer of Delta-9 THC. While it isn’t as potent as Delta-9, it does have psychoactive effects. Much like Delta-8 (yet another isomer in the THC family), it is found in such small amounts that it requires a series of extractions to produce substantial quantities. Delta-10 products begin with CBD extracted from hemp. Then, the CBD oil is converted to Delta-10 through a unique isomerization process.

Delta-10 is very similar in effect to Delta-9, although less potent. For example, if you were smoking a Delta-10 vape pen, you may have to take a few more hits than you would with a Delta-9 vape pen to achieve the same results. However, this is still an incredibly appealing product because it is available for sale online and outside of licensed dispensary channels.

Because it is a hemp product, it falls under the legal protection of the 2018 Farm Bill, although cannabinoid experts continue to raise safety concerns due to the lack of research and the lack of regulation for Delta-10 products.

There are potency rules for hemp products that require any finished product to contain less than 0.3% THC. Yet, that amount of THC still seems to pack a punch. Users describe Delta-10 as the sativa to Delta-8’s indica. You can find Delta-10 in vape pens, edibles, and tinctures. Consuming any Delta-10 product may result in a failed drug test despite the limited THC per product.

Passing a Delta-10 THC Drug Test

Even though Delta-10 is legal for sale and consumption by adults over 18, it is still off-limits for anyone who must remain THC-free for some reason. Unfortunately, many employers today still require random drug tests or pre-employment drug screening. So before you reach for the latest detox drink, read on to learn more about contributing factors to detox time and testing methods.

How Long Does Delta-10 Stay in Your System?

It’s tricky to answer this question directly. How long Delta-10 stays in your system is dependent on several physical factors, like your body fat percentage, age, hydration level, and overall health. People with a higher body mass index tend to hold onto THC metabolites longer than those with less body fat. This is because our body stores THC metabolites in fat cells until they are metabolized and purged. As we age, metabolism slows down and may contribute to a slower detox time.

Another major consideration is the type of drug test administered. Each type of test has varying windows of detection, so it’s important to know what you’re up against. Urinalysis is the most common method of testing and is often the least forgiving because it can detect THC for up to 30 days after last use. Keep in mind that light, infrequent users may only present THC in their urine for up to a week. One hit of a Delta-10 vape pen will likely be gone from your system in a matter of days.

A saliva test can detect any THC consumption within the last 24 hours and is often used by employers who are trying to catch you high on the job. This is a tough test to beat if you have little warning. Blood testing can detect THC use for up to three days, but employers almost never use this invasive method. Lastly, hair follicle testing knows what you’ve been up to for the past 90 days but it is not a common approach.

Trusted Ways to Detox from Delta-10 THC

You can do plenty of things to support your body through the detox process. While it might be obvious, the first thing you can do is stop using Delta-10 or any cannabinoid product. The sooner you can stop, the shorter the timeline to a clean test.

Since we excrete THC via urine and feces, it’s important to stay hydrated and eat fiber-rich foods. Avoid foods that slow down digestion and focus on a plant-based diet. If you like to eat meat, stick to lean meats and fish. In addition, consider ramping up your exercise routine to include more fat-burning exercises like bicycling, HIIT workouts, swimming, or kickboxing.

While our bodies are incredible at naturally detoxing, sometimes we don’t have the luxury of time on our side. In that case, your best bet is to opt for a trusted detox product to guarantee a passing test. Pass Your Test is one such provider that offers a 10 day detox, 5 day detox, and even a 24 hour detox kit for those surprise drug tests.

The Takeaway on Delta-10

Delta-10 is currently legal for sale and use across the US, though its legal status may change as the federal government continues to evolve its policy surrounding hemp-derived products. For now, it’s a great way to get high when you live in a state without a recreational or medical marijuana program. With access to great detox products with guaranteed results, you can consume Delta-10 stress-free and continue to enjoy all the benefits cannabis has to offer.

(Editor's note: If you are considering adding Delta-10 to your daily regimen, it's best to consult with a medical professional to discuss potential health impacts.)

Psilocybin 101: Your Guide to Magic Mushroom Spores

Why are more people interested in magic mushrooms?

Magic mushrooms belong to a class of intoxicating mushrooms known as psychedelic mushrooms. They contain a combination of psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin, which are intoxicating. These compounds can interact with the serotonin receptors to promote relaxation with a feeling of euphoria. Recent clinical trials have shown their possible use for mental disorders, depression, and addiction.

The practice and use of magic mushrooms started over 6000 years ago. At that time, people heavily relied on its psychotropic (mind-altering) properties to communicate with the divine and trigger trips. It was an important part of several religious rituals and was often utilized for its therapeutic benefits.
