Save the Date: August 20th (820) is National Drink Cannabis Day: A High-spirited Fusion of Refreshment and Cannabis

Hold onto your kombucha, folks, because a new holiday is here to redefine your summer refreshment rituals. August 20th is no longer just another date on the calendar; it's National Drink Cannabis Day, affectionately known as "820."

This year, the Cannabis Beverage Association (CBA) and the Cannabis Media Council (CMC) are teaming up to roll out a celebration that's all about fusing the joys of cannabis with the delights of beverages, while breaking down the stigma around cannabis consumption.

Shifting the Paradigm

The CBA and CMC are tag-teaming to present the "I'm High Right Now: 820 Edition" campaign, a thrilling collaboration that casts a spotlight on the art of crafting cannabis-infused beverages. But beyond the bubbles and flavors, there's a deeper message at play here: the normalization of cannabis consumption

It’s worth pointing out here that hemp and cannabis-infused beverages are more than just a passing trend; they are becoming a significant vehicle for normalizing cannabis use.

Diana Eberlein, the Chair of CBA and VP of Marketing and Business Development at SōRSE Technology, understands this transformation firsthand. She envisions a future where cannabis beverages bridge the gap between enthusiasts and newcomers, making cannabis consumption a comfortable, everyday choice.

Bridging the Gap with Sips

Allison Disney, the Founding Board Member of CMC, echoes this sentiment. For years, cannabis has carried a stigma that often overshadowed its potential benefits. The "I'm High Right Now: 820 Edition" campaign takes a bold step towards reshaping this narrative.

By highlighting cannabis-infused beverages, the campaign invites people to see cannabis in a new light – a refreshing choice that can enhance social experiences and self-care routines.

A Celebration for All

The power of the 820 initiative lies in its inclusivity. It's a call to arms for brands, retailers, and consumers to join forces and embrace the joys of cannabis-infused beverages. The goal is not just to showcase the offerings but to encourage an open dialogue about cannabis, its benefits, and its rightful place in our lives.

Savoring Chemistry, Toastibng to Progress and Acceptance

Why August 20th? The chemistry of water, H2O, inspired this date's selection. With "H" being the 8th letter of the alphabet and "20" paying homage to the "2O," it's a harmonious nod to both the iconic 420 cannabis holiday and the essence of water itself.

On this day, raising your glass isn't just about a drink; it's a gesture towards progress.

Cannabis-infused beverages symbolize a shift towards acceptance and a departure from outdated stereotypes. They're a canvas for experiencing cannabis in a normalized, socially accepted manner.

In the midst of celebration, responsibility stands as a cornerstone. The CBA and CMC advocate for mindful consumption, emphasizing that 820 is about enjoying the moment, not compromising safety. Keep the spirits high and the decisions sound.

Crafting Normalization: A Unified Effort

Behind the scenes, the proud sponsors and CBA members – Simple Garden CBD, Rebel Rabbit, Kite Soda, Harmony Craft Beverages, and SōRSE Technology – are orchestrating this symphony of refreshment and normalization. Their commitment ensures that when you raise your glass on 820, you're raising it to progress and unity.

So, there you have it – a date with destiny, a celebration of fusion, and a movement that's rewriting the narrative around cannabis. National Drink Cannabis Day isn't just a celebration of beverages; it's a rallying cry for the normalization of cannabis use.

The "I'm High Right Now: 820 Edition" campaign is an invitation to explore this world, raise your glass, and create memories that taste as good as they feel – all while contributing to the acceptance of cannabis in our society.

Remember, enjoy responsibly, stay safe, and let the delightful fusion of cannabis, refreshment, and normalization paint your summer with unforgettable shades of flavor, progress, and acceptance.

Happy 820, everyone!
